Are we nerd?

Well most of you would probably thought that medical students are the one who sticks their butt 24/7 on their chair reading books. Pffffftt, you are totally wrong dude.

For those who might be wondering and making a wrong assumption, here it goes. Let me tell you a bit about how we actually are.

We actually doesn't look like medical students until the exam time is around the corner. Maybe we would act like one of the medical students during a critical time like a week before exam started. Haha. Like I used to tell you guys, I loved to observe people. Well, from my observation, I can say that most of my friends have got their own super talent. It was amazing you know when you discover that they have been playing violin since the age of 5 years old. Some of them sings really well and some of them can act like a professional artist, Not just that, some of my friends are good in sports and I can say that they can become an athlete. It will just take me days to list all of the talents that they have so I might just want to stop here.  They have the other side of life that I don't think is related to what they are studying right now and I found that as amazing.

Last night we were having a concert to raise funds for a charity event annually done organised by Faculty of Medicine. I was contributing just a very very very minor part. I was just being the usherer to the Dean's of the faculty. However, from that minor part, I learned a lot of new things. I learned how protocol handle their event, who should take care of the stage, what needed to be done and what not and etc. Yes, a lot. Also, I learned words like stage manager, stage runner and lots more in which I can't find in my notes. Kan med students kan?

The event last night was totally handled by medical students and guess what??? It was really a success. Yeah, congratulations people. A big clap for you guys.

So I should say that is enough to convince you that we are not the nerd type. Trust me, about 70% of our time is used for having fun. We are the usual teenagers. Just assume that I am still a teenager. Haha. For those who might worry that you wouldn't have time to be a real teenager when you are in medical school, I shall say stop worrying. You will have lots of free time till you don't know what else to do.  You will never lose your own personal time. So come and join us to be a medical students.

If you really loved to become a doctor, you wouldn't find things that is your responsibility  like for example studying as a burden. You will be handling people's life one day remember? Don't you think studying is the most crucial parts of your life in order to help cure them?  You don't want to mess with people life do you?

basically you wouldn't suddenly change into a nerdy when you enter medical school. It depends babe on you personality in the first place. So hmmm well I hope it's convincing. Enjoy your day people!

Spending time with le friends on weekend

This was right after the exam. We never forget to reward ourselves with nice fooodddd

We also organize an event. And we do make sure everything runs smoothly. That, we learn by experience. Non of the medical books teach us that.

Nevertheless, we never forget to give back to the community bcos it's part of the training.

Life is trying to teach you something

Hello there! Sorry for the long wait. So, here you go.  Here come an urgent story after a reflection made few weeks ago. I just felt the urge and the need for me to write and share this. As you know, I have been working in a pharmacy for quite sometimes now. It has been around 4 months I guess. Though definitely, I am extremely tired and I got no time to pamper myself, it gave me priceless experience. It’s a place that taught me to appreciate people, trust (this one I’ve got some issue with it too. Trust is basically not easy. It’s build over time so work hard to gain it) and respect people no matter who they are and their social status or educational background.  Initially, it feels like there’s nothing I can gain from working there. Not that I believe in all those supplements can help with diseases. These days, when I felt like I was doing a thing without having a benefit, I would start to do my own reflection. It was like a homework to me. Thank you to that one...

What's new?

How ’s me? Life has been great so far Alhamdulillah. Indeed, when you let go of the painful things that you ’ve been holding on for so long, you’ll be at peace and you’ll be happy. Being dependent on a person is not good, you’ll feel lost once they are away. “What’s meant for you will reach you even if it’s beneath two mountains. What isn’t won’t reach you even if it’s between your two lips.” And so these words heal. Always. Anyway, Let’s start. I have been occupying my holidays doing a few things at once right now. It all started as a volunteer with the Sarawak Children Cancer Society (SCCS) at the hospital. There, I knew a few doctors and pharmacists. These doctors enjoyed dragging me around in their rounds and clinics but I don’t really haha. So, these doctors has got a lot of on hold project for the community that they wanted to arrange but they ain’t got no time for that. Thus, they asked me to arrange it for them. This year, it was about the health fair project 2...

It's for us!

Before I start here, I would like to say I am sorry, that I am not being racist here. No intention like that at all. So here I am sharing with you guys my two cents regarding my childhood and maybe you have had similar childhood experience too. I admit that to be honest, I was raised by parents who would expect the best out of me behind their, “ I don’t mind” words. How do I know? I analyzed, observed and listened. With that, I understand what they wanted actually. Most of my family ( I mean huge family including cousins, aunties and uncle) were placed in a chinese school even from preschool years. Our parents believed that the chinese school has the best education system that of all can offer. Most of my cousins and relatives were able to complete their chinese education until high school except for me. I am an exclusion, I couldn’t fit and survive even during my preschool years. When I was in my psychiatry posting, I remembered that there was a young boy presented with d...
